As the summer season is upon us, today 16 Novemeber 2024, the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs, Rev. Musa Zondi officially launched the summer season campaign under the theme "Magical Zulu Kingdom." The event took place at the Blue Lagoon in Ramsgate, Port Shepstone (Paradise of the Zulu Kingdom).

The summer campaign is part of the department's efforts, in collaboration with its entity the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film Authority aimed at promoting the province as the most preferred travel destination and to encourage tourists to explore various attractions during the festive season.

In his speech to the guests, MEC Zondi stated; "We are proud that KZN is the most accessible destination. As we prepare for this summer season, I would like to inspire the citizens of KZN to use this downtime to explore the stunning beauty of our province, with its rich history, heritage, and 600 km coastline. I urge them to become the first ambassadors of KZN through their own travel experiences."

As part of the summer season campaign, Rev. Musa Zondi, the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs, conducted an oversight visit to the KwaXolo Caves project. This initiative is funded by the Department and its entity, the KZN Tourism and Film Authority.

The project scope includes the development of a multi-purpose building that will feature ablution facilities, a restaurant and coffee shop, a seating area, a water tank, and a braai area for picnic sites.
