COMMEMORATION OF NATIONAL ARBOR WEEK
The Department of Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs, and EThekwini Municipality, partnered with Khanyisani Primary School to commemorate National Arbour Week.
The main purpose of this week is to celebrate South Africa's trees as well as educate students on the value and vital role of trees and forests.
The theme for 2023 "Forests and Health "was also unpacked, whereby the guest speaker educated learners as well as community members on how trees play a role in the promotion of a healthy environment, mitigate climate change, and contribute to the economy.
Among the stakeholders who graced and donated food and parcels to the school event were the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and Environmental Affairs, the eThekwini Municipality,Boxer Superstore, Kellogg's, and the Red Cross.
