Today, the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, through its Tourism Education and Awareness is hosting the iNgakithi Tourism Schools Competition – Culinary Category Practical Assessment and Award Ceremony at the University of Zululand’s Richards Bay Campus.
The iNgakithi Tourism Schools Competition is an initiative by the Department aimed at promoting Tourism, Hospitality, and Consumer Studies in schools. It seeks to ignite curiosity and inspire learners to explore diverse career opportunities within the Tourism sector.
Finalists of the competition include learners from Ndumo High School, Nkwenkwezi High School, Klwana High School, and Alexander High School.
This event not only showcases the remarkable culinary talent of our youth but also underscores the importance of education and skills development in strengthening the future of the tourism industry.
