INVASIVE ALIEN SPECIES HACKATHON AND CLEANUP

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, through its Women and People with Disabilities Economic Empowerment Unit, today hosted day one of the two-day Strategic Planning Session for the KZN Disability Business Chamber at Didima Camp Resort.

The session, held with departmental support, is aimed at providing a strong foundation for the Chamber’s strategic alignment, strengthening partnerships and enhancing implementation readiness as EDTEA facilitates the adoption and approval of the strategy.

Day one brought together stakeholders from government and the business support ecosystem for engagements focused on strengthening governance and leadership, resource mobilisation, supplier and enterprise development, access to funding opportunities, financial and non-financial business support, as well as the use of public procurement as a tool for disability economic empowerment.

The discussions provided an opportunity to share insights, identify opportunities for collaboration and strengthen the collective efforts towards advancing the economic participation and empowerment of persons with disabilities in KwaZulu-Natal.
