Rev. Musa Zondi, KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, addressed delegates at the BARSA Aviation Summit 2026 in Zimbali, where he emphasised the province’s commitment to strengthening investor confidence and positioning KwaZulu-Natal as a premier destination for aviation, tourism and trade.
Among the dignitaries in attendance was Barbara Creecy, South Africa’s Minister of Transport, alongside aviation industry leaders, investors and policymakers from across the country and the continent.
In his address, MEC Zondi highlighted that improving air connectivity and strengthening partnerships within the aviation sector are critical in unlocking new investment opportunities, driving tourism growth and accelerating economic development across the province.
He noted that attracting investment into key sectors such as aviation, tourism infrastructure and logistics will stimulate job creation, enhance trade opportunities and contribute meaningfully to inclusive economic growth in KwaZulu-Natal.
