"From under the tree to a manufacturing facility: turning local entrepreneurship into jobs and opportunity" A milestone for local enterprise development! The SSethembe Services Manufacturing Facility was officially launched today, 27 October 2026, in Esinyameni, Ward 09, under Msinga Local Municipality, marking an important step towards strengthening local manufacturing, growing businesses and creating employment opportunities.

The launch, led by KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev. Musa Zondi, in partnership with the uMzinyathi District Development Agency, highlights the importance of investing in local enterprises and unlocking their potential to drive economic growth within their communities.

MEC Zondi emphasised the need to support businesses at grassroots level, enabling them to grow beyond small-scale operations, expand their production capacity and contribute meaningfully to job creation and the provincial economy.

“Local businesses are the building blocks of a thriving economy. By supporting their growth and strengthening their capacity to manufacture, we create opportunities for job creation, enterprise development and a better economic future for our communities.” The launch celebrates the potential of local enterprise to drive inclusive growth and contribute to a stronger manufacturing sector in KwaZulu-Natal.
