PREMIER NTULI AND PROVINCIAL CABINET LEAD OPERATION SUKUMA SAKHE IN UMGUNGUNDLOVU DISTRICT

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli, together with Members of the Provincial Cabinet, led the Operation Sukuma Sakhe (OSS) outreach programme in the uMgungundlovu District Municipality today, 04 March 2026.

The MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev. Musa Zondi, attended the community engagement in Richmond, having commenced the day in Ward 6 under the uMkhambathini Local Municipality as part of the OSS Cabinet deployment. There, he engaged directly with residents and local stakeholders on service delivery matters before proceeding to the main district event in Richmond.

Hosted at the Richmond Primary School Sports Field, the community outreach programme brought government leaders face-to-face with communities to address key concerns, including water provision, infrastructure development, housing, road maintenance, electricity supply and crime prevention.

As part of the OSS/DDM Cabinet Day Programme in the uMgungundlovu District Municipality, the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev Musa Zondi, conducted an oversight visit to Bhebheza Bobhayela Pty Ltd in Ward 06, uMkhambathini Local Municipality. During the visit, MEC Zondi engaged with beneficiaries on the ground and handed over garden and planting tools to boost productivity and support the project’s growth.
