The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), in partnership with EDTEA through the Environmental Empowerment Management Services at the King Cetshwayo District Office, is responding to the call by Deputy Minister Swarts to plant one million trees nationwide on the 24th September 2025.
Today’s event is taking place at Mzingwenya Primary School in Esikhaleni Township J1, within the City of uMhlathuze under the King Cetshwayo District Municipality.
The purpose of this event is to celebrate Arbor Day, as part of Arbor Month, which is commemorated annually during the first (1-7) week of September .
This year’s theme is: "My Tree, My Oxygen – Plant Yours Today."
