FROM GAUTENG TO DURBAN KZN WELCOMES THE NEW ENERGY VEHICLE ROAD TRIP

Smiles, excitement and renewed hope marked today’s MSME Business Support Handover in Mthonjaneni, where the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev. Musa Zondi, in collaboration with uMthonjaneni Local Municipality, handed over operational machinery and equipment to local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at the Mthonjaneni Indoor Sports Centre.

Beneficiaries welcomed the support with visible excitement and appreciation, recognising the opportunities the equipment presents to strengthen their businesses, improve productivity and expand their operations. Beyond the machinery and equipment, the handover represents an investment in local entrepreneurs, business growth and sustainable job creation.

Emphasising the importance of inclusive economic development, MEC Zondi reiterated that growth must reach every corner of KwaZulu-Natal, including smaller municipalities that have significant economic potential.

“Economic growth must not be concentrated in our major cities and large municipalities. It must also reach our local and smaller municipalities, where businesses need support to grow, create jobs and contribute to the local economy.” Through initiatives such as this, EDTEA continues to champion local enterprise development and ensure that MSMEs are better equipped to contribute to economic growth and prosperity across the province.
