The Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry NPC proudly hosted its prestigious Annual Gala Dinner today, 29 October 2025, at PlayTsogo Globe - Suncoast in Durban. The event brought together business leaders, government representatives, and key stakeholders to celebrate innovation, resilience and the collective drive to rebuild KwaZulu-Natal’s economy.
Held under the inspiring theme “Revive, Reform and Reinvent,” the Gala Dinner highlighted the Chamber’s continued commitment to championing business growth, fostering inclusive economic development and promoting sustainable entrepreneurship in Durban and beyond.
The evening was graced by the presence of the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev. Musa Zondi, who delivered a keynote address on behalf of KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Mr Thamsanqa Ntuli. MEC Zondi expressed appreciation to the Durban Chamber and its members for their role in stabilising and reigniting the economy following immense challenges, including the global pandemic and devastating floods.
He further urged the Chamber and its members to continue working with the Provincial Government through platforms such as the KwaZulu-Natal Economic Council, Provincial Investment Council and the Public-Private Infrastructure Delivery Partnership. “Together, let us continue to align our plans, pool our expertise, and ensure that no one is left behind in the province’s growth trajectory,” MEC Zondi said.
The event also recognised outstanding contributions from business leaders and enterprises that have demonstrated exceptional innovation, adaptability, and commitment to social impact. The evening concluded with the inauguration of the new Durban Chamber of Commerce president, Mr Asheen Magjee.
