The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), Rev. Musa Zondi, is joining today’s festivities at the iconic Hollywoodbets Durban July 2026 held at the Greyville Racecourse in eThekwini.

His presence at Africa’s premier horse racing event highlights EDTEA’s commitment to showcasing KwaZulu-Natal’s vibrant tourism, rich cultural heritage and economic potential on the global stage. MEC Zondi will also use today’s gathering to engage in strategic meetings with key industry stakeholders, in an effort to drive conversations around tourism development, investment opportunities and economic growth in the province.

With a crowd of approximately 15 000 people, this year’s event brought together policymakers, captains of industry, fashion enthusiasts, racing fans and some of South Africa’s most celebrated entertainers. MEC Zondi’s presence highlighted the powerful synergy between tradition and innovation, reinforcing KwaZulu‑Natal’s role as both a hub of celebration and a beacon of growth and opportunity. Under the theme “Country Allure”, Africa’s premier horseracing event once again proved that it is more than a race, it is a statement of pride, resilience and progress for the province and the nation.
