Today, the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs, Rev Musa Zondi, visited the Tongaat Hulett Sugar Refinery in Durban . The purpose of the visit was to engage with the company's executives in a productive discussion aimed at strengthening partnerships, exploring opportunities for growth, and addressing challenges within the sugar industry.

During the visit, MEC Rev Musa Zondi commended Tongaat Hulett for its significant contribution to the local economy, particularly through job creation, community development, and the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices.

“We recognize the important role that Tongaat Hulett plays in both the regional and national economy. Through strategic collaborations and investment, we believe there is an opportunity to further strengthen this sector, particularly in terms of sustainability and value-added products,” said MEC Rev Musa Zondi.
