KZNEDTEA MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev Musa Zondi, today, 26 September 2026, rolled out the Department’s Integrated Service Delivery and Consumer Awareness Programme in Jozini Local Municipality reaffirming government’s commitment to bringing essential services and opportunities closer to the people.

The programme forms part of the Department’s intervention to take government services directly into communities, ensuring that residents have access to information, support and services without having to travel long distances to government offices.

Today’s instalment was particularly special, with learners receiving tablets to support their schoolwork and enhance their access to digital learning resources. The programme also brought a moment of care and dignity to senior citizens in Jozini, who received food hampers, including the community’s eldest citizen, aged an incredible 102 years.

Addressing the community, MEC Rev Musa Zondi emphasised that bringing government services closer to the people is central to responsive and meaningful service delivery. He underscored that the people are the backbone of service delivery, and government must therefore remain accessible, present and responsive to the needs of communities.
