The MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev. Musa Zondi, along with Deputy Minister for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr. Seiso Mohai, and local mayors, conducted an oversight visit to Mandeni today. This strategic move aims to boost economic growth in the region by focusing on key sectors like manufacturing, logistics, distribution, and agro-processing at the Isithebe Industrial Park.
Located about 100 km north of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, Isithebe Industrial Park has been a growth point since 1983. The park's management services and governance play a crucial role in its success, aligning with global eco-industrial park standards.
During the visit, the delegation inspected three critical economic sectors within the park, K.I.C Factory, Digital Hub-and Cut, Make & Trim Factory. This to learn of their success stories and the challenges faced.
These pre-imbizo activities are laying the groundwork for the main event happening this Friday in Umgababa. The oversight visit demonstrates the government's commitment to promoting economic development and job creation in the region.
