KZN MECs Unveil Groundbreaking Partnership to Drive Inclusive Growth and Job Creation

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government took a bold step this morning as three key departments - Public Works and Infrastructure, Agriculture and Rural Development as well as Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs - announced a groundbreaking joint venture during a media briefing held at Coastlands Hotel in Durban.

The historic collaboration is aimed at revitalising rural and township economies through strategic infrastructure investment, agricultural development and job creation. The initiative also forms part of the province’s broader efforts to stimulate economic growth and build sustainable communities inline with the KZN Provincial Government's key priorities.

In his address, MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev. Musa Zondi, emphasised the transformative potential of the partnership, stating: “This collaboration is about bringing life back to our land - transforming abandoned properties into centres of activity, productivity, and dignity. Through this partnership, we are aligning Public Works, Agriculture, and Economic Development around one shared mission: to make land a catalyst for food security, industrial growth and job creation.”

Today's announcement reflects a unified government approach to addressing unemployment, strengthening food securityand empowering historically disadvantaged communities reaffirming KwaZulu-Natal’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development.
