Today (13 January 2026), the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev. Musa Zondi, joined the leadership and people of KwaZulu-Natal in celebrating the outstanding achievements of the Class of 2025 in the National Senior Certificate (NSC). Durban’s Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre was filled with applause and jubilation as KZN officially announced the 2025 NSC results, confirming the province’s first-place national ranking with an exceptional 90.6% pass rate.
The milestone achievement was formally unveiled by the Premier of KZN, Mr. Thamsanqa Ntuli, alongside the MEC for Education, Mr. Sipho Hlomuka, during a prestigious provincial results ceremony attended by government leaders, education officials and stakeholders, educators, learners as well as proud families. Among the attendees at today’s ceremony was EDTEA’s Head of Department, Dr. Nkosenye Zulu, who commended the Class of 2025 for their resilience and hard work.
MEC Zondi had the honour of awarding some of the province’s top-performing learners. His presence underscored the Provincial Executive Council’s unified support for education as a critical driver of socio-economic development, skills growth, and long-term prosperity in KwaZulu-Natal. The 2025 NSC results stand as a powerful reflection of collective effort under the Government of Provincial Unity (GPU).
