GRADUATION FOR COACHING & MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME FOR SMES IN THE MANUFACTURING SECTOR

The Department of Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), through its Trade and Investment Promotions Sub-Programme, has officially concluded the Mentorship and Coaching Programme that supported 15 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through a comprehensive six-month development journey. This programme focused on strengthening business sustainability, improving operational efficiency, and unlocking growth opportunities.

The graduation ceremony, held at the Ithala Centre, in Durban on 08 May 2026, marked the successful culmination of a programme designed to provide entrepreneurs with tailored mentorship, strategic guidance, and practical coaching. The initiative empowered participants to navigate business challenges, refine their business models, and position their enterprises for long-term success.

Through the appointed service provider, Rationalise Zoe Discussion (RZD), EDTEA guided participating SMEs through a series of one-on-one mentorship sessions, business development support, leadership coaching, and skills enhancement opportunities. These interventions focused on key areas such as financial management, marketing, innovation, business compliance, and market access, equipping entrepreneurs with the tools, knowledge, and confidence needed to build competitive and resilient businesses in an evolving economic landscape.

The programme further recognises the vital role that SMEs play in driving economic growth, fostering innovation, and creating employment opportunities within communities. By investing in the development of local enterprises, EDTEA continues to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem, promote inclusive economic participation, and support sustainable job creation across KwaZulu-Natal.
