KwaZulu-Natal Premier Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli and MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev. Musa Zondi, welcomed the Escaping the Noise 3.0 New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Road Trip to Durban today, 11 October 2026.

The Gauteng-to-Durban leg brought the road trip together with participants from Gqeberha, KuGompo and Cape Town, showcasing the growing momentum behind new energy vehicles and sustainable mobility in South Africa. The arrival sets the pace for SA Auto Week 2026 and the KwaZulu-Natal Investment Conference, taking place at the Durban ICC from 13–16 October.

These platforms will highlight KZN’s automotive manufacturing strengths and opportunities to attract investment, grow local supply chains and create jobs in the evolving automotive sector. KwaZulu-Natal is ready to help drive the next chapter of automotive innovation and industrial growth.
