Today, 17 February , Women and People with Disabilities Economic Empowerment Unit officially supported the District Disability Business Chambers Programme in Newcastle, hosted at the Amajuba District Council Chamber, Madadeni.
The workshop marked the formal establishment of the Amajuba District Disability Business Chamber and the election of its members. Local compliant businesses participated in the voting process to select their structure.
The programme is designed to empower entrepreneurs with disabilities by providing a structured platform to formalise and strengthen their enterprises. Through the District Disability Business Chambers, participants will receive guidance on establishing sound business structures, strengthening compliance, accessing economic opportunities, and developing strategic networks that support growth and long-term sustainability.
This significant initiative gives effect to resolutions adopted at the Sectoral Disability Parliament, reaffirming our collective commitment to advancing inclusive economic participation and sustainable empowerment.
