This morning, the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), led by MEC Rev. Musa Zondi, together with its entities, presented their 2026/27 budgets before the Finance Portfolio Committee at the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature.
The budget hearings aim to reinforce transparency, accountability and responsible spending, as government plans are scrutinised to ensure they deliver real benefits for the people of KZN. Later today, EDTEA presented its Environmental Affairs Annual Performance Plan (APP) and 2026/27 budget before the Conservation and Environmental Affairs Portfolio Committee.
During this session, the Department reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that public resources are utilised effectively to drive meaningful socio-economic development and improve the lives of the people of KwaZulu-Natal.
