EDTEA HOSTS SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP AT LUTHULI MUSEUM

Today, 17 February 2026, the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) is hosting a Supplier Development Workshop at the Luthuli Museum in Groutville, within the iLembe District.

The workshop is aimed at addressing compliance challenges faced by small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) that often prevent them from accessing procurement opportunities. By equipping entrepreneurs with practical knowledge and regulatory guidance, the Department seeks to enhance small business participation in the mainstream economy.

Key focus areas include Small Business Tax compliance presented by the South African Revenue Service (SARS); Provincial Treasury’s guidance on Central Supplier Database (CSD) updates and the completion of bid documents; EDTEA’s input on B-BBEE compliance and available business support programmes; as well as Local Economic Development (LED) support for small businesses.

The workshop is implemented in partnership with KwaDukuza Local Municipality, SARS, Provincial Treasury, Luthuli Museum and Enterprise iLembe, among other stakeholders, reinforcing a collaborative approach to strengthening enterprise development across KwaZulu-Natal.
