The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs, in partnership with Okhahlamba Local Municipality is hosting a 2 days’ workshop Shared Cannabis Processing Facility in Bergville Sport Complex.
As part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the successful development and implementation of the Cannabis/Hemp Commercialization Program, this workshop has been organized to engage key stakeholders, including traditional authority representatives, community members, local government officials, and representatives from Insangu YoKhahlamba.
Cannabis/hemp has been identified as one of the key and strategic sectors for the creation of job opportunities and resuscitation of the provincial economy, the implementation of the KZN Cannabis and Hemp Commercialisation Programme will assist on sustainable and inclusive economic growth to ensure job creation in the province
The workshop provides a platform for participants to discuss key issues related to the Shared Cannabis Processing Facility and address any concerns related to project implementation, roles, and responsibilities.
This workshop is vital for aligning all parties and ensuring that the program's objectives are met in a cohesive and effective manner and highlighting opportunities that comes with the proposed Shared Processing Facility, including investment and market prospects
