Zero Carbon Charge is gearing up to build a state-of-the-art electric vehicle charging station along the vital N3 corridor linking KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng — a major leap towards cleaner mobility and a low-carbon future.

The sod-turning ceremony was graced by the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev Musa Zondi, who not only delivered a powerful keynote address but also christened the very soil where this pioneering off-grid, solar-powered station will rise.

This development is set to create much-needed jobs in construction, maintenance and related services, injecting fresh economic energy into the province while supporting sustainable growth. MEC Zondi captured the moment perfectly: “Today marks a truly significant milestone for KwaZulu-Natal as we gather to break ground on the Zero Carbon Charge’s first provincial off-grid, solar-powered electric vehicle charging station, delivered through the innovation and commitment of Zero Carbon Charge.”
