The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, in partnership with the KZN Economic Regulatory Authority and uMvoti Local Municipality, today (14 April 2026) kicked off a two-day Business Compliance Workshop in the uMvoti area and surrounding towns.
Held under the theme “Government providing enablers for a sustained and profitable liquor trade towards job creation,” the workshop seeks to strengthen collaboration between government officials and stakeholders within the liquor industry.
Day 1 focused on the core objective of the workshop: building the capacity of officials to effectively support individuals applying for liquor licences. Participants gained a clearer understanding of application processes, compliance requirements, and the regulatory frameworks governing the liquor trade.
The workshop continues tomorrow with further insightful presentations aimed at empowering participants.
