KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Rev Musa Zondi, today successfully unveiled and handed over the Mpofana Innovation & Digital Hub in Mooi River, marking a major milestone in advancing digital access and innovation in rural communities.

Launched under the theme “Empowering Mpofana through Digital Access and Innovation,” the state-of-the-art centre was set to play a transformative role in equipping local youth, entrepreneurs, and businesses with essential digital skills, access to modern technology, and innovation support.

Delivered in partnership with the Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI), the initiative demonstrated the KZN Provincial Government’s commitment to bridging the digital divide, driving inclusive economic growth, and empowering communities like Mpofana to participate meaningfully in the global digital economy.
