On 14 February 2025, the Department of Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs, in collaboration with uMzumbe Local Municipality, is hosting the Business Compliance and Education Awareness Program at Mpumuza Hall, uMzumbe Local Municipality.

This initiative aims to enhance business compliance with relevant legislation, covering aspects of both business registration and operational requirements. Additionally, the program will educate the community on the importance of making informed purchasing decisions, such as avoiding expired food items or products without clear manufacturing and expiry dates.

A key focus of the program is to remind business owners and managers that the deadline for business registration has been extended to 28 February 2025. It is crucial for all businesses to ensure they are properly registered and possess the necessary licenses or permits. Businesses without valid registration or licenses will not be permitted to operate after the deadline.
