WEEDBUSTER COMMEMORATION AT KWAMQOBOKAZI, HLUHLUWE

The Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs hosted a Weedbuster Day on the 15th November 2022 at Mqobokazi area under Big 5 Hlabisa Local Municipality.

The purpose of the event was to celebrate this day with the community and also educate them on the importance of protecting the environment. It was important to make them understand the reasons for destroying invasive species and the role that Wetlands play in the environment. Furthermore, the community was enlightened on how they can protect the environment against climate change to ensure sustainability.
