KWANDWALANE COMMUNITY LEARN OF THEIR RIGHTS AS CONSUMERS
The Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs in partnership with the Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality landed in Ward 24 of the Kwandwalane area to empower community members of their rights as consumers.
The delegation led by the local Mayor, Mr. S. Mqadi comprised of Inkosi S. Ndwalane, Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality Speaker Ms. Z. Mazindle and senior government officials.
This initiative to educate was not only confined to consumer awareness however, KZNEDTEA brought on board various programmes they offer; ranging from environmental management awareness to opportunities available to young entrepreneurs.
Delivering his keynote address Cllr Mqadi thanked the Department for bringing this initiative to the people. “It is important for people to know what services there are in government as they are the consumers of these services” said Mqadi.
The day was concluded by a handover ceremony of school shoes to beneficiaries in the area.
