MEC for the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs open a new window of opportunity as she addresses women in ICT on 1oth September at Grayville, Durban. With the advent of the technological era upon us, the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Nomusa Dube-Ncube is not resting on her laurels and will, on Tuesday, address a Women In ICT Conference themed: “Inclusive Digital Economy”.
The Conference was aimed at mainstreaming a gender perspective in information technology and the promotion of gender equality.
It is also billed as an empowerment apparatus for women through information and communication technologies that recognises that information and communication technologies (ICTs) are tools through which gender equality and women empowerment can be advanced. Dube-Ncube, the Champion of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, said while the skewed patterns of the economy can be corrected, technology can expedite that process through the empowerment of women in ICT.
