WASTE PICKERS CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP

The Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environment Affairs, programme 07: Environmental Empowerment Management Services, and eThekwini Municipality had a Waste Pickers Capacity Workshop in Magaba Community Hall at Hammarsdale.

The purpose of the workshop was to capacitate waste pickers about the Waste Act, Why is Recycling Important,Recycling Initiatives,The Effects of Pollution on Natural Resources and how waste can boost the local economy.

Vukuzame Self Help Disability Cooperative displayed their waste related products.
