UHULUMENI UYA KUBANTU - ETHEKWINI METRO OSS/DDM CABINET DAY

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government hosts its Cabinet  OSS/DDM day in Ethekwini today. 

As deployed by MEC Duma, the HoD Champion Ms. Carol Coetzee handed over a home to the Mbambo family. Ms. Alfina Mbambo a member of the Ward 2, Maphephetheni area was joyful when receiving this home. Expressing her words of gratitude she said she’s grateful to government for hearing her cry.

As part of the OSS/DDM Cabinet Day, the HoD Champion, Ms Carol Coetzee together with the eThekwini Metro Deputy Mayor, Cllr Zandile Myeni conducted an inspection visit to Bakers Creationz, a bakery business located in Maphephetheni. Bakers Creationz is funded by EDTEA, and It currently has a total of 40 permanent employees including 32 young people and 8 adults.  The business currently supplies a number of South Africa's leading supermarkets with baked goods, including Pick n Pay Express, BP and Engen garages.

The day was concluded with a community engagement whereby members of the Maphephetheni community under ward 2 gathered to voice out their concerns and seek interventions from government.
