KWAZULU-NATAL TOURISM STUDENTS ENHANCEMENT WORKSHOP

The Department of Economic Development Tourism and Environmental Affairs, under the Tourism Development: Tourism Education and Awareness is, conducting a 2 day Tourism student enhancement workshop today at  uMfolozi TVET-  Richtek Campus and tomorrow at University of Zululand students who are doing their final year of study in this field.

The purpose of session is to prepare student for the work environment by sharing with them relevant information that will assist them as they enter the work environment such as Policies that governs the  tourism sector,  Career and Entrepreneurship opportunities as well as available skills development initiatives that students can tap into. These sessions are also used to share information on the different portals that students can access for available employment opportunities as well as to register students on the ESSA-( Employment Services of South Africa) portal. Other stakeholders that were presenting are:  Department of Tourism , King Cetshwayo District Municipality, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, National Youth Development Agency, and Department of Employment & Labour.
