2023/24 PROVINCIAL LAUNCH OF THE MULTI PLANTING SEASON

In an effort to quell challenges affecting the development of the provincial agricultural sector, the Department of Agriculture & Rural Development has intervened with an annual Multi Planting Season, which is an aggressive and holistic approach to aid smallholder farmers.

The goal is to reduce food insecurity while alleviating poverty, to provide available mechanization support to indigent, vulnerable households and underprivileged communities as well as to identify

underutilized agricultural land for food production.

The MEC for Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs and the Leader of Government Business, Mr Siboniso has handed over seedlings and conducted a demonstration of planting equipment at the Impendle farming site.
