MEC for Economic Development, Tourism & Environmental Affairs 

 

Ms Nomusa Dube-Ncube has been appointed as the new KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development, Tourism & Environmental Affairs and she succeeds Mr Sihle Zikalala who has been inaugurated as the new Premier of the Province of KwaZulu-Natal. She was sworn in by KwaZulu-Natal Judge President, Justice Achmat Jappie. Dube-Ncube has been the province’s MEC for Co-oporative Governance and Traditional Affairs and she brings with her a wealth of knowledge in governance and administration to this multidimensional portfolio. Having amassed a considerable experience first as a councillor in one of the country’s biggest metros, eThekwini where she served as Speaker for several years, she was deployed to the Provincial Legislature and was appointed MEC responsible for local government and traditional affairs in 2009. She also spent some time as South Africa’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic which illustrates her exceptional leadership qualities.
